First "Real" Ouie

Aiden pinched his finger in the hinge of a closet at grandma and grandpa's house. This is the first time that he has had an injury that a kiss just wouldn't fix. His finger was gushing blood, but he was a trooper as we ran it under water and wrapped it tightly in a bandaid to stop the bleeding. I could tell he was trying so hard to stop crying, but he just couldn't. He kept asking all of us to kiss it, but unfortunately even mama's magic kisses weren't going to make this one feel better. The saddest part was when he was saying, "Sorry guys!" to all of us through his tears. Are you kidding me? It broke my heart!

He was ok on the ride home due to the distraction of The Lion King, but when we got home, it was pretty tough. He was so exhausted and since dada was out of town, I told him he could sleep with me. He cried for about 45 minutes straight asking me to "take it off!!!!" as I tried to explain to him that the bandaid would help it feel better. It was rough, but I finally got him to fall asleep laying beside him with our arms wrapped around each other. The next morning, we took off the bandaid, washed his finger and put a new one on, much looser this time. By the end of the day, the bandaid was off and his finger was looking much better. Poor little guy. He definitely proved how "big, strong, tough" he is!
