We had Ava's baptism at the Gonzaga Prep chapel and were lucky enough to have Fr. Steiner preside. He baptized me as well as Aiden, so it was very special to have him perform Ava's ceremony as well.
We knew we wanted family as Ava's Godparents, but were having a horrible time choosing which aunt and uncle to ask because they're all pretty outstanding people. After spending a lot of time trying to decide and coming to no conclusion, I suggested we ask some of Ava's cousins. Eric liked the idea and we both knew right away who we would ask. Hannah and Max are two of the most mature, loving, and fun young people I know. I have no doubt that they will be fantastic role models for Ava to look up to in both life and in faith!
Aiden was pretty excited about the alter, which he thought was a stage. He kept saying, "Ladies and gentlemen, please take your seats!"
Ava's baptismal gown was handmade by my grandma and worn by both me and my sister!
I love this shot of Aiden blessing his sister by making a cross on her forehead.
Our sweet little girl fell asleep during the ceremony.
She woke up briefly when the water was poured on her head, but only fussed for a few seconds before she was happy again.
Ava was all smiles for Fr. Steiner, until he told her she has too much hair. Out popped her lower lip and she started crying!
We had everyone over for dinner after the ceremony. Aiden was quick to snag a seat next to his new friend! Fr. Steiner is so sweet with kiddos!
