Christmas Eve

This was a tough Christmas Eve for all of us, but we still gathered together and celebrated just as he would have wanted us to.

Special tributes to Papa.

Last night, Papa passed away unexpectedly. He wasn't feeling well in the morning, but because he is Papa, he was still planning on going to work. Instead, he was admitted into the hospital. Everything happened pretty quickly, but he was surrounded by the family all day and worked doing the job he loved up until his very last day. We were blessed beyond measure to have been engulfed in his love and we are heartbroken to lose him.

Ava is a little too young to understand what this really means, but Aiden took the news pretty hard this morning. There were lots of questions and so many tears. Then, he drew this picture for Nana. 

Fun on the Mountain

Aiden has grown so much in his skiing this year, becoming much more independent and super speedy. We also got Ava up and running! I'm so happy we have a fun family activity to do during the winter months!

Grandparent's Day 2016

Aiden is blessed beyond measure to have these two incredible people in his life. The book fair was going on during this visit. There was a Lego book at the fair that I wouldn't buy Aiden because I thought it was too expensive. When Nana and Papa asked if he wanted to go get a book, his face lit up and we both knew exactly what he was going to walk out the door with. Pretty special treat from Nana and Papa!

Ava didn't want to be shown up by big brother. These are the first people she has drawn. It's her and I holding hands. Melt me!

Seattle Date

Mom and Dad headed to Seattle for a date weekend while Aiden and Ava stayed with Grammy and Grandpa. We went to a black tie wedding and toured the city, which included going to the top of the tallest building in Seattle.

This was the first year the kids rode the rides at the fair. They were so excited!

First Day of School

How is my baby all of a sudden in kindergarten? I am so excited for this year and all of the things he will learn. We are so lucky that he is in Mrs. Warren's class. I have no doubt she will love on and nurture him as he completes his first year of school. This handsome boy and what he wants to be when he grows up melts my heart.

Ava is trying out preschool at Connie's this year. She is just newly three, so we'll see how it goes. Pretty high aspirations for this one and what she wants to be when she grows up! Ha!
