Thanksgiving

 We kept Thanksgiving small this year - just us and Grammie and Grandpa. It was an excellent evening complete with our first deep fried turkey and of course National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation afterward. 

Family Bike Rides

 One positive thing that has come from quarantine is that we have taken advantage of all of the fun outdoor activities in Spokane. We have really enjoyed exploring the bike trails in 7-Mile. We even found a beach on the river to hang out at!

 

Happy Birthday, Grandpa!

Today we celebrated Grandpa turning 72. You'd never guess his age because he is still a kid at heart. He loves playing with his grandkids and taking care of all of us. We love him SO much!

Happy Anniversary

Today we celebrated Grammy and Grandpa's 51st wedding anniversary! They continue to be such a beautiful example of what love is and does. We are so lucky!

Quarantined Easter

Easter looked a little different this year since we couldn't have any big family gatherings. We did have Grammy and Grandpa over for a nice socially distanced hike on the property, though! It was really hard not to hug them and we stayed outside the whole time they were here. Instead of having a meal together, we sent them home with a pork loin Easter dinner we bought from a local restaurant. Although it felt weird, it was a beautiful day and we were really happy to spend some time together!

Grandparents' Day 2019

Saying Goodbye to Grammie and Grandpa's House

Today we helped Grammie and Grandpa move out of the house they have lived in for the past 45 years. It was pretty sad to say goodbye to a house so full of memories from my childhood and Aiden and Ava's as well. We are so excited to build a house for them right next to our new house, but man was leaving this house for the last time hard! It's the end of an era. I think we are all fighting back tears in these pictures. I didn't walk through the house today because I just couldn't bring myself to see it empty. I'm glad a young couple bought it and I'm hopeful that they will have a family to share it with one day who will love it every bit as much as we did. This was really hard.

Saying Goodbye to the Pool

Today was our last day of swimming at Grammie and Grandpa's pool because they have decided to put their house on the market. This pool means the world to me and represents 38 years of the most amazing summers ever. So many friends, so much green hair! I love that my kids had so many years of swimming here too. It was a beautiful but hard day.

Disneyland!

 What a dream come true! I have been dying to take the kids to Disneyland since they day they were born. It was every bit as magical as I always dreamed it would be. We didn't tell the kids we were going until we woke them up at 3:30AM to head to the airport. They were groggy, but so excited!

We decided to stay at a Disneyland Hotel and to our surprise, there were a ton of characters in the lobby right when we arrived. It was a pretty great start to the trip. 

Aiden has been waiting to take these pictures in Toon Town since he was little and saw old pictures of mom and dad in the same poses. 

Dad had an early work meeting in LA, so we headed into the park with our Magic Morning Pass. We headed straight to Cars Land to ride the new Car's ride and then we spent the rest of the morning in Pixar Pier. 

Ava was so excited to see Sophia the First! 

Churros! Aiden had been waiting for this since the second our plane landed. 

Splash Mountain. We told everyone to keep their hands down and Grandpa thought we said to put them up. Ha! Both kids were pretty nervous going up the big hill, but they ended up loving the ride, despite Ava's face. We rode it first thing in the morning, so we were all drenched. Luckily, it was nothing hand dryers and warm weather couldn't fix.

We loved watching Fantasmic with the kids. They were in awe. Ava loved seeing all of the princesses go by on their floats. So fun to see the magic through their eyes. 

Ava was thrilled to meet Anna. 

Character Breakfast!

This trip was perfection. We're already looking forward to next time!
