Ava's Preschool Christmas Program

 Oh my goodness, Ava was over the moon excited to be in the spotlight! A lot of family came to watch and she waved to all of us after every song, smiling from ear to ear because she was being applauded. At the end, we were all invited to sing along with "We Wish You a Merry Christmas". Ava was NOT having that. She kept motioning for us to zip our lips. It was hilarious. We might have an actress on our hands! 

Ava's Sixth Birthday

Ava wanted a repeat of last year's birthday this year because she loved it so much. We headed down to Riverfront Park and rode the carousel followed by some gigantic ice cream cones.

Then, we headed to Grammie and Grandpas for some pizza and pool time.

Ava said it was the best birthday ever. She said being six feels awesome because it means so gets to go to kindergarten. I love how excited she is for school and for life in general. Ava is always up for trying something new or for going on an adventure. She makes friends everywhere we go. I can't wait to see what this year has in store for her!

Summer Love

This girl loves summer just as much as her mama! Why does she look so old all of a sudden?!

Summer Staycation

Daddy just finished a three week trial and we are all elated! Those were some LONG weeks! To celebrate, we decided to have a little staycation. We started out by biking the Hiawatha Trail. I was so impressed with how well the kids did with all 16 miles of it! We made a lot of stops, but they were troopers and we made some great memories! Afterward, we stopped for dinner in Wallace, ID and then headed to Auntie Angela's cabin at Hayden Lake.

Our weekend at Hayden was awesome. It was the perfect amount of fun and relaxation and a great way to get in some much needed family time. 

On Monday, we headed to Silverwood for the day. I only took a couple of pics, but we had a blast. Ava rode a rollercoaster for the first time. We chose the Corkscrew because although it goes upside-down, it is a much smoother ride than the other rollercoasters there and it's also much shorter. We figured it would be best in case she didn't like it. As expected, she LOVED it! She even put her arms up when they went upside-down! She is so brave!

Ava is a Ripple!

Ava has been waiting to join swim team just like her brother for a couple of years now. She tried out today and she nailed it. She is officially a SWAT Ripple! We are so proud of her. We celebrated at Hello Sugar afterward.

Byrd Family Priest Lake 2019

This year we spent an entire week at the lake and we still weren't ready to come home. We are so lucky to have family that we love spending time with!

Aiden was brave enough to try surfing! It was hard, and when he fell, he kept hold of the rope, which resulted in half the lake going up his nose, but I was so incredibly proud of him for giving it a shot!

It was a bit of a bummer that this week coincided with Daddy's trail, so he wasn't able to join us. This was the perfect distraction for us, though, since we were really missing him. He was missing us too, so on Thursday night he drove out and surprised the kids. He spent all of Friday with us before heading back to town that evening.
