Ava's Sixth Birthday

Ava wanted a repeat of last year's birthday this year because she loved it so much. We headed down to Riverfront Park and rode the carousel followed by some gigantic ice cream cones.

Then, we headed to Grammie and Grandpas for some pizza and pool time.

Ava said it was the best birthday ever. She said being six feels awesome because it means so gets to go to kindergarten. I love how excited she is for school and for life in general. Ava is always up for trying something new or for going on an adventure. She makes friends everywhere we go. I can't wait to see what this year has in store for her!

Day with the Lipskers

Miss Erin had her double mastectomy a couple of weeks ago. Today, we picked up Kennedy and Marcus and headed out for some fun to give Miss Erin some time to herself. We had such a fun day and did A LOT of walking! We went to Japanese Gardens and then walked to the Duncan Gardens and back. We stopped to play at a playground in between. We ended the playdate with lunch at a Mexican restaurant. The kids were all fantastic. We had a blast!

We had so much fun at Grace Grover's tea party birthday today. Loved the adorable fascinators Michelle made for all the girls. So cute!

Potty Training

Since the three day method worked so well with Aiden, I decided to use it with Ava as well. I stocked up on some awesome superhero undies for her and we were off! We did it at the same time as Erin and Kennedy so that we had each other for moral support, and boy did we need it! These girls were bound and determined to prove the three day method wrong! After two weeks of training, Ava is still having lots of accidents, although they are starting to become fewer and farther between. We have spent a lot of time outside swinging to save the carpet!

After a long morning of poop and pee in undies, Erin and I needed a drink when we finally got the girls down for a nap - in Pull Ups!

Although the girls are certainly not pros, there's no turning back now! We're bound and determined to have them successfully trained by the time school starts!

Lilac Parade

We got to watch the parade from our "box seats" in daddy's office. Ava loved having Kiki to eat popcorn with and look at all of the horses.

Fun at the Pool

Another amazing summer at Grammy and Grandpa's pool has come to an end. We were there more than we were home and we loved every second of it! It was so much fun to soak up some sun, swim until we were exhausted, and be spoiled rotten by Grammy and Grandpa, not to mention sharing it all with friends. I love that my kids are creating the same childhood memories I have of growing up with a pool!

1 Year Old

Happy birthday to our little one year old! Ava has grown from a sweet little baby to an even sweeter toddler! She has such a happy demeanor.

12 Month Grow Bear

Her top two teeth broke through this month and I can tell she has others on the way! Although she's not walking yet, her favorite activity is grabbing our fingers and walking assisted. She would do it all day long if we had the energy for it!

Ava loves dancing. Her favorite tunes are the ones that play when she pushes the button on her alphabet and farm animal magnetic games on the refrigerator. She has also grown quite fond of Aiden's wrist bands. Since she sees him wearing them all the time, she follows suit and puts them on any time she finds one on the ground.

Speaking of wanting to be just like her big brother...

Ava got to spend her actual birthday with her besties, Kennedy and Addison and the pool! What better way to spend the day?

This little munchkin is such a joy. She is very rarely fussy or unhappy, and when she is, she needs her diaper changed or she's ready to go to sleep. Otherwise, she is such a little light in our loves and we absolutely cherish her!
